"So You Want To Race! ...Where do you start ?"
A lot of drivers start out in the smaller classes like Street Stocks or Aussie Six's, and then progress. A good car can be purchased from a reputable wrecker. Also check out for sales in the racing program.
Sapphire Speedway has available a rule book for each division and cetain things are compulsory for each class. Basically all speedway cars have a roll cage, no windows or glass objects, a racing seat and harness.
Things like car set up, shocks and tyres will help the car handle better. Some classes use the standard engine while others are more open and modifications are allowed.
Standard racing gear is also compulsory, such as thermal undergarments, helmet, gloves and racing boots.
